Welcome to the Kettle Creek Watershed Association Website
Thank you for your interest in the Kettle Creek Watershed Association (KCWA). KCWA is a 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Kettle Creek in north central Pennsylvania. We hope you enjoy this website. KCWA membership starts at only $5.00. Click on 'Join or Renew' above the picture. You can pay by credit card or use the original method of printing out the membership form and mailing it with your check.
The watershed is located in the Deep Valley Section of the Appalachian Plateau in northcentral Pennsylvania. At approximately 244 square miles, over 90% of the watershed lies within state forest and state park lands. The main stem of Kettle Creek traverses nearly 43 miles beginning in southwestern Tioga County, flowing through Potter County and then emptying into the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in northwestern Clinton County at Westport, PA. (See map above. Go to 'About Us', drop down to 'The Watershed' for the map.)

The PA Game Commission live eagle nest camera is back at Codorus State Park, Hanover, PA. There is a second camera with infrared technology this year. No eggs yet but they are busy repairing/redecorating their nest. Last year 2 eggs appeared in February. www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/.
KCWA is looking for areas along the streams that need riparian plantings. There are 50 white pine trees in containers that are looking for creek-side homes in the spring. We will also be getting more trees in the spring. If you have a stream-side area where you would like to plant trees to help stabilize the bank, please contact Dan McDermott at 570 - 923 - 1012.
PA Game Commission is taking orders for spring seedlings to plant. The order form and information about the types of seedlings for sale will be available at the Game Commission’s website, www.pgc.state.pa.us. Place your cursor over “General Store” in the menu bar at the top of the homepage, then scroll down to “Howard Nursery” and select “2016 Seedling Order Form” from the drop-down menu.
Your KCWA is sponsoring a 3 day Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) outing on Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8. PHWFF is designed to assist military personnel & veterans deal with injuries & adjust to civilian life.
PHWFF is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through the therapeutic activity of fly fishing. KCWA will house, feed & equip these visitors as well as purchasing fish to stock for a successful Kettle Creek experience. Please help KCWA make this weekend a success. We are looking for business sponsors as well as individual donors. Since all meals are prepared locally by our volunteer cooks (no restaurants, no catering), we feel we can feed each vet for about $20. We need ham and beef roasts for the Saturday night banquet honoring these vets. Any donations will be appreciated. Click here for more information and to find out how to sponsor or donate.
